WHAT IS RYLA?

RYLA, Rotary Youth Leadership Awards, encourages servant leadership in youth by recognizing and rewarding deserving 11th grade students who are chosen to attend RYLA as an "award" for their past and present leadership and service activities. Every year, a handful of juniors are chosen to spend a weekend down at Camp Oak Hill, Oxford. With all-expenses-paid, students will receive the opportunity to be inspired by a diverse group of exceptional speakers, make life-long friends through team bonding activities, and grow as a young leader of society. The various activities conducted will prompt each student to step out of their comfort zone, something every great leader must accomplish in order to lead. The result is that these students return to their schools and communities motivated to take on additional leadership roles and inspire others as well.
